About This Game:
In Metroid Dread NSP, a mechanical threat on a distant planet pushes the galaxy’s greatest bounty hunter to her limits. Join Samus Aran on her most dangerous mission yet in Metroid Dread. Metroid Dread is an action-adventure game where players explore the planet ZDR as bounty hunter Samus Aran.
The game retains the side-scrolling gameplay of previous Metroid games, along with the “free-style” attacks and melee combat introduced in Samus Returns (2017). Samus can also glide and grapple onto blue surfaces. Dread also adds stealth elements, allowing Samus to evade nearly impenetrable enemies.

Plot: Metroid Dread NSP takes place immediately after the events of Metroid Fusion. For those unfamiliar with the previous installments, the game’s opening will include a recap of Metroid Fusion. At the beginning of the game, our hot-blooded protagonist, Samus Aran, is sent, heavily armored, to the planet ZDR to investigate the mysterious X-Parasite. This remote planet has become chaotic due to evil aliens and robots (known as E.M.M.I.). They have been programmed to hunt down and eliminate Samus.

Unfortunately, during the investigation, Samus herself becomes infected with one of these parasites. She is treated with Metroid cells. Although the parasites have been destroyed from her body, her armor still bears their marks. These creatures have learned all of Samus’ abilities and created a perfect copy called “SA-X”. This is one of the most dangerous enemies Samus will face in the game.
Classic Metroid Dread NSP Gameplay:
In terms of gameplay, Metroid Dread maintains the core of the series: 2D/1/2D shooter gameplay. However, in certain scenes (such as defeating bosses or unlocking a new skill), the game suddenly switches to a 3D perspective with cinematic camera angles. This is one of the differences compared to other games in the series.
The combat mechanics in Metroid Dread are extremely fluid and refined. You will learn to run, jump, navigate obstacles in tight spaces, perform counterattacks, and hit enemies with a variety of unique weapons. Defense is one of the best gameplay mechanics that makes Metroid Dread so special. It is best to time your attacks precisely to block enemy attacks and launch counterattacks. In boss battles, you will also have to block some of their attacks, so players must be careful and time their counterattacks effectively.

Metroid Dread NSP Graphics:
Metroid Dread NSP is undoubtedly one of the best Switch games I’ve ever played, and many will agree. The game’s graphics are truly impressive for a handheld console like the Switch. While it doesn’t quite reach the level of other AAA games on PC or PS4, Metroid Fusion offers a fantastic visual foundation.

From the tree effects and lighting to the depth of the environment, the transitions between scenes are superb. The game also succeeds in creating a cold, dark atmosphere with terrifying monsters. The characters are incredibly detailed and, despite the 2.5D perspective, feel deep and rich in detail. Furthermore, Metroid Fusion delivers a consistent gameplay experience at 60 frames per second.
