About This Game:
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a hack-and-slash fighting video game developed by Omega Force. It was published in Japan by Koei Tecmo and released worldwide by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch in 2020. The story takes place 100 years before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; Link and Princess Zelda must gather allies across the kingdom of Hyrule to repel the forces of the evil Calamity Ganon, who aims to revive her and destroy the kingdom.
Like its predecessor, Hyrule Warriors, Age of Calamity combines the combat style of Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors series with characters, locations, and other elements from Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series. The core gameplay mechanics revolve around engaging in large-scale battles against enemies, completing missions, capturing bases, and making strategic decisions such as commanding troops.

In addition to combat, crafting, and weapon upgrade systems inspired by Hyrule Warriors, the game also features environmental puzzle-solving and the use of a parachute with the Chika tower from Breath of the Wild. Players can upgrade their characters, complete quests and challenges, use resources to access new areas, craft weapons, and cook food that can be consumed while in confinement.
Unlike Breath of the Wild, weapons in this game do not degrade or malfunction over time. The game map is similar to Breath of the Wild’s, allowing players to select stages and use the Chika tower to travel between areas. The game features 18 playable characters; 14 are unlocked through the main story, while four others can be unlocked by completing various side quests. In addition to characters, players can also control massive god-like beasts to annihilate hordes of enemies.
Gameplay:
The game offers fast-paced, exciting combat focused on large-scale battles. Players can control multiple characters, each with unique abilities, and switch between them during battle. The controls are intuitive and easy to use, allowing for fluid combos and special moves.
