Boss fights are one of the most important aspects of the game, and they are steeped in mystery and filled with hard-to-find collectibles. The multiplayer mode could have been improved, but every time my friends and I failed in those wild races, I was struggling. But the feeling of satisfaction I got after crossing new obstacles kept me motivated to the end.
Graphics:
The Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Nintendo Switch game’s graphics are reminiscent of Donkey Kong Country Returns. The vibrant colors bring the entire environment to life while maintaining a high frame rate. The game also features cutting-edge graphics on several levels.
The difference is that this game has been specifically designed for HD systems. Therefore, the graphics are of higher quality, and the game looks better. As a result, the game looks brighter, allowing you to notice more details in Kong’s designs.
Sound and Music:
The classic sound design is also excellent; the same sound effects and music from Donkey Kong Country Returns have been used. However, the music deserves special mention, as David Wise, the composer of the Donkey Kong Country trilogy on the SNES, was invited to compose the music for Diddy Kong Racing, Star Fox Adventures, and Tropical Freeze.
Gameplay and Levels:
The charm of the game lies in maintaining key elements of the original. There are additional island levels that will eventually lead Donkey back to Kong Island. As expected, all of these levels are incredibly innovative, adding a variety of dynamic events and background movements to this 2D platformer.

Challenge Mode and Fun Mode:
As you might expect, this game remains challenging, especially if you’re trying to collect all of the puzzle pieces and Kong characters. However, the Nintendo Switch version includes a new balancing element: Fun Mode.
In this mode, you can play as Donkey Kong and his friends, but each Kong now has three hearts instead of the previous two. However, the real appeal of Fun Mode lies in the ability to play as the fun Donkey Kong.
