Pokémon Legends: Arceus NSP is a fantastic Pokémon RPG for the Nintendo Switch. Explore diverse environments, engage in epic battles, and discover new Pokémon to catch and train. This game represents the boldest and most exciting direction the series has taken in a long time, and the result exceeds all expectations.
A detailed analysis of some aspects of Pokémon Legends: Arceus is one of the most comprehensive we’ve seen to date. While there are some positive aspects (the battle system, character customization, and polished animations), one thing hasn’t changed since the game’s initial announcement: the graphics are terrible.

They’re so outdated that they look like a GameCube game. The game suffers from two obvious flaws: overly simplistic environments and low-quality graphics.
The game is very engaging and well-designed, and doesn’t rely on cutting-edge graphics. However, a game like Pokémon Legends needs more than what the Switch offers, at least in part. I think that’s largely down to Game Freak. Fans will say they’ve never seen anything like this before, but in 2022, this level of quality is unacceptable.
As many Nintendo Switch players have noted, many other games on the console boast good, even excellent, graphics considering the system’s technical limitations. The best example of this is Breath of the Wild’s vibrant art style, which takes full advantage of the Switch’s capabilities.
On the other hand, Pokémon Legends: Arceus NSP lacks any art style at all. The environments are harsh, ugly, and empty. The character models are barely acceptable, sticking to the cartoonish style of Pokémon and trainers, and nothing more.
Both urban and wild environments are completely unacceptable, and no new gameplay mechanics can improve the situation.
How this new Pokémon Legends: Arceus NSP game will work remains unclear, but it places a strong emphasis on reproduction. In the latest trailer, the narrator notes that “collecting materials and crafting tools will be critical to success” in this new adventure.
