A Short Hike NSP is an indie adventure video game developed and published by Canadian programmer Adam Robinson-Yu (also known as adamgryu). The game was completed in three months during a break from another project. It’s an open-world exploration game where the player must reach the top of a mountain to get a cellular signal. The game was released in July 2019 for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux, and in August 2020 for the Nintendo Switch.

Gameplay:
The player controls Claire, a humanoid bird capable of running, climbing, swimming, and gliding in an open-world park. To reach the top, the player must find or purchase golden feathers, which grant them additional abilities to jump and climb rocks. According to a sign on the Falcon Peak trail, the summit can only be reached with seven golden feathers. Once the player reaches the top, they are free to explore the park and complete side activities as they please.
Besides the main objective of the full game, “Short Trip,” the island features other animals that offer quests and side activities such as hunting, finding lost items, and a volleyball-like minigame called “Beach Ball.” Rewards for these activities include items like running shoes or a compass, enhancing the player’s ability to explore the park. The player can also collect shells, sticks, coins, and other items to help complete these side quests.
