But before you dive into the game, you’ll need to spend some time developing your character. It’s pretty simple.
Next, choose a class; its impact will be especially noticeable in the first hours of the game. The user interface is very clear and perfectly matches the atmosphere of the game. As you progress, your inventory will gradually grow. You can sort the items in your inventory with a simple tap.
This is useful for dividing items into different boxes or quickly finding a specific item. Mining and crafting will be the two main activities in Core Keeper.
You can speed up the first process by using a hoe, a hammer, a mortar, a more powerful pestle, and a pump. Feed your crops to grow various plants by planting seeds you find during your adventure.
You’ll find yourself trapped underground in a dark cave full of ancient and obsolete technologies. Awakening an old core requires finding a way to do so. So choose a faction and start digging.
Break through mud walls, gather resources, craft new weapons and equipment, build a base, and tunnel from the surface to other environments like mud caves, arid deserts, and even the depths of the ocean.
The progression will be familiar to anyone who’s played survival games: mine base metals like copper and smelt iron to create better tools, weapons, and armor.
Then, dig deeper to find durable materials like tin, gold, and iron ore. But Core Keeper isn’t just about breaking down walls and scaffolding: one of its strengths is the ability to build resource production chains and delegate the toughest tasks to machines.

The market is saturated, and it’s hard for any game to stand out. I’m happy to see Core Keeper succeed. Its linear approach to survival and crafting in a randomly generated world isn’t exactly new, but its dynamics and simple design philosophy make it unique.
