About This Game:
Pokémon Violet Switch XCI is the latest installment in the series, developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. As is customary, the game was released in two versions: Violet and Scarlet. The content and gameplay are similar in both versions, but the difference lies in the Pokémon available at the start.
Pokémon Violet takes place in the Baldea region of the Iberian Peninsula in Spain. This region is home to many types of Pokémon, and all Trainers head there to catch Legendary Pokémon.

Pokémon Violet Switch NSP offers the familiar gameplay mechanics of the series, where players explore a vast open world, catch and train Pokémon, participate in battles, and complete the Pokédex. Violet introduces more Pokémon for the next generation, along with some new features and a new storyline for the series.
Many fans expected Violet to be a game-changer for the Pokémon series, and Nintendo did not disappoint. The game has sold over 10 million copies worldwide since its release. According to the concept, Scarlet’s legendary Pokémon, Coraidon, is a giant, prehistoric-looking lizard, while Violet’s legendary Pokémon, Meridon, is chrome-plated. I don’t think this has anything to do with futuristic vibes, but it does have symbolic meaning. Coraidon crawls on the ground like a giant SUV with its chest and tail resembling thick tires, while Meridon transforms into a sleek motorcycle using a jet engine.
I don’t think I need to remind you, as it’s mentioned in the titles of both games, but Scarlet and Violet also have different colors. At Naranja Academy, Scarlet wears a red (orange) dress, while at Plains Academy she wears a purple (burgundy) dress. I suggest you choose the simpler one based on your favorite colors and the direction of the story (past or future).
Can Pokémon ride motorcycles? And if so, do they need gas? My colleague Claire Jackson at Kotaku asked me these questions; she claims to know very little about the Pokémon series. Well, I don’t have a favorite Pokémon either.
