Like a blend of chocolate and peanut butter, Sega has brought these two iconic games together in a delightful package with Puyo Puyo Tetris 2. A sequel to the 2014 Puyo Puyo Tetris game, it challenges players to solve each puzzle type under different conditions.
Both puzzle types are equally represented, and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 NSP ROM delivers excellent gameplay mechanics for each. In each battle, one player plays Tetris or Puyo, while their opponent plays the same. When they form a line in Tetris or complete a round of four in Buyo, their opponent’s arena fills with unwanted pieces.
Some boss battles allow players to build a team of characters that add defensive or offensive reinforcements. For me, the most useful character is “O,” a small cloud creature that can give me 40 key points in battles.
You’ll also be introduced to the brand-new “Skill Battle” mode, where you’ll assemble a team of three characters, each with their own unique skill, to use during gameplay. A simple blend of role-playing and puzzle-solving mechanics, this mode lets you regenerate health and improve your attack or defense.
There are even skills that let you manipulate your tools, such as rearranging scattered Termino pieces to make completing a Tetris game easier, or changing all your Puyo pieces to the same color to instantly hit unwanted pieces.
