About This Game:
Monument Valley NSP for Nintendo Switch. I found the difficulty level to be perfectly adequate; I didn’t encounter any major challenges, but completing each level required some thought. There’s no time limit, so you can enjoy the game at your own pace and progress at your own pace.
I couldn’t help but smile every time I reached the point of cleverly solving a level – it was incredibly satisfying. My only criticism is the game’s short length; it consists of ten levels, and you can expect to complete them in an hour to two hours.

The music complements the mysterious atmosphere of the game. Nothing particularly noteworthy, but the way the objects interact with the music is interesting. At times, the moving parts of the puzzles produce a sound similar to guitar strings, creating an echo and a dreamlike atmosphere. It all feels harmonious.
The story unfolds in sections from Ida’s point of view, guiding her through these puzzles. I won’t spoil the game for you, but you’ll find out more as you progress. It only made me want to solve the puzzles even more!
The color palette consciously uses pastel and earthy tones to create a sense of calm and serenity. The lack of sharp lines and smooth transitions creates a soothing visual experience, inviting the player to immerse themselves in the game’s labyrinthine world.
Each level is carefully crafted, like a miniature work of art that deserves contemplation rather than a quick swipe. The stylistic choices evoke a sense of timelessness, as if the player is exploring the remains of a forgotten civilization.
While the puzzles themselves aren’t overly challenging, they are elegantly designed and require a keen understanding of spatial relationships. The difficulty curve is gradual, allowing the player to learn the game’s mechanics step by step without getting frustrated.
The simplicity of the controls is also a significant advantage. Players interact with the environment using intuitive touch gestures, making the game accessible to a wide range of users. The puzzles are designed to be satisfying rather than frustrating, finding a successful balance between intuitive interaction and satisfying solutions.
A deeper connection is fostered between the character and the world. The recurring appearances of the Raven People, mysterious figures who initially obstruct Ida’s path and later offer her assistance, add another layer of complexity to the plot.
Their motivations remain ambiguous, prompting the player to speculate about their role in Ida’s journey. Themes of forgiveness, redemption, and the cycle of life and death are skillfully woven into the gameplay and environment.
